Breast disease diagnostics

This is a painless and non-invasive diagnostic examination that allows the internal structures of the breast to be imaged. Owing to the latest generation mammograph, the dose of X-ray radiation is reduced to a minimum. The examination is completely safe. The procedure allows lesions, including cancerous ones, to be detected at an early stage. This is crucial for an effective treatment process.

That is the ultrasound examination is one of the most popular imaging examinations. The examination is based on the use of ultrasound and is completely safe. This non-invasive method enables to assess the condition of internal organs or detect pathological changes, including breasts. It can be performed in pregnant and breastfeeding women. This examination does not pose any risk to mother or a child.

Is a specialised diagnostic method which is used to take tissue material from lesions suspected of having a disease or cancerous process. A mammographic biopsy is performed by a doctor using a specialised needle, through which a section of tissue is taken and then returned for laboratory examination.

This is a state-of-the-art method of imaging tissues, including breast lesions. This examination should be performed as a further diagnostic step after ultrasound and/or mammography, as it resolves any doubts regarding the correct diagnosis. This examination has an extremely high sensitivity and specificity of up to 98%.

Our equipment

Mammomat Inspiration

Our laboratory is equipped with an extremely sensitive, accurate and efficient mammograph that reduces the radiation dose to a minimum. In addition, it has a tomosynthesis function, the latest technology in breast imaging, which has a better detection rate of cancerous lesions compared to the conventional method.

Basic information

Preventive mammography

Basic (screening) digital mammography is an X-ray examination of the breast in a woman who does not report breast complaints. The purpose of baseline digital mammography is to detect breast cancer when it is still too small to be felt by self-examination or palpation by a doctor. Early detection of small breast cancers through screening digital mammography greatly increases the chances of a woman being treated successfully.

In-depth mammography

In-depth digital mammography is an X-ray examination of the breast in a woman who either has a breast complaint (e.g. breast lump, nipple discharge, etc.) or who has an abnormality detected by screening digital mammography. The purpose of diagnostic digital mammography is to gather more information about the lesion area and to include the patient in additional imaging and/or procedures such as ultrasound, biopsy, MRI.
